The following are the recommendations of the Finance Committee
which were considered at its meeting of July 30, 1974:
COMMUNICATION
,--e- No. 914: PALANI ROAD IMPROVEMENTS (Job No. P-1839)
From Edward Harada, Chief Engineer, dated July 18,
1974, submitting' for approval and acceptance a
gift deed from Lanihau Corporation conveying
Parcel 9 to the County of Hawaii for the Palani
Road Improvement Project. The Corporation Counsel
has approved the gift deed as to form and legality.
The Committee recommends ,
acceptance of the gift deed.
BILLS
No. 62: SALE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS
(C-548. 2) Authorizes the sale of $5 million in general obliga-
tion bonds or bond anticipation notes :

The Committee is in accord
with the intent and purpose
of Bill 62 and recommends
passage oh first reading.
The purpose of the bill is to
authorize the sale of bonds
to finance various projects
that were approved in the
capital budget for this
fiscal year and capital
budget of previous years.

Establishes the Salary Ordinance for 1974.

The Committee recommends that
the position of Agricultural
Program Planning Coordinator
SR-24 be deleted from Sec-
tion 8.06, Department of
Research and Development, and
that it be carried on a
contractual basis for another
year so that the Council can
evaluate the position/program.
The Committee further recom-
mends the adoption of Bill
1030, as amended, on second
and final reading.
