Kondo, Director of Taxation, dated October 4, 1974, transmitting certificate showing the net taxable valuation of real property within the County of Hawaii which is furnished in connection with the setting of the real property tax rates for the tax year beginning July 1, 1974: 517.3 : From Mayor Bruce McCall dated October 9, 1974, trans- mitting for consideration a resolution setting the real property tax rates for the fiscal year 1974-75 . Recommends that the real property tax rates be maintained at an average of $17. 90 per $1,000 of assessed valuation: Receive and file. No . 517 .4: From Stanley A. Nakamae, Director of Finance, dated (Bill $3 ) October 11, 1974, submitting for consideration a bill to amend Ordinance 45 (Operating Budget) by incorpo- rating higher real property taxes and the additional requirements listed on the attachment to C-517.3 : Approve and recommend passage of Bill $3 on first reading. {Ap, ADOPTED: October 23, 1974 ^-r Ler- OCT 2 3 1974 FC-32 - 2 - Oct . 21, 1974 No . $75 .4: H.R. 12225 - PAYMENTS IN LIEU OF TAXES LEGISLATION From U. S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye dated October 9, 1974, acknowledging receipt of Resolution 271 and informing that the House Interior Committee is presently considering this legislation and that positive action is expected early in the next Congressional session. The resolution has been forwarded to Representative Udall in this regard : Receive and file. / No . 969 .1: WEST HAWAII APPROPRIATIONS Copy of letter to Ma76773Fuce McCall from James L. Potter, West Hawaii Committee Chairman, dated October $, 1974, regarding appropriations and expenditures for West Hawaii: Receive and file. ✓ No . 101$: DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY - REQUEST FOR GRANT FOR THE COST OF HAULING WATER From Akira Fujimoto, Manager, Department of Water Supply, dated October 9, 1974, informing that during the past four or five months, the Big Island has been experiencing severe dry weather in certain areas of the County and they have gone through considerable expense to maintain a sufficient supply of water in the especially hard hit areas. One of the more costly sections to supply water to is the Laupahoehoe-Waipunalei area where they have been hauling water to their 100,000-gallon tank above Laupahoehoe at a cost of $600 per day and requests a grant of 818,000 for this cost ($600 per day for a period of 30 days) : Recommend a loan of $18,000 be granted to the Department of Water Supply. / No . 1021: GENERAL REVENUE SHARING ACT From Council Chairman Robert M. Yamada dated October 11, 1974, requesting the Finance Committee to submit a 4111 FC-32 - 3 - Oct . 21, 1974 No . 1021 recommendation to the Council on the General Revenue (cont . ) Sharing Act which expires in 1975 : Request the Corporation Counsel to prepare a resolution to be sent to the Hawaii Congressional delegation supporting the continuation of the General Revenue Sharing Act . No . 1022: HILO COLLEGE SUNDAY FESTIVAL From Council Chairman Robert M. Yamada dated October 11, 1974, referring for appropriate action the request made by Brian De Lima, President of the Associated Students of the University of Hawaii Hilo College, that autho- rization be given the County transit department to provide bus transportation on November 24, 1974, throughout the County so that those who want to attend the Hilo College Sunday Festival at the Hoolulu Park Stadium will have the opportunity to do so : Support the Hilo College Sunday Festival and the request for the special run. Recommend that the County mass transit departmental funds be used, provided buses are not chartered by the ASUHHC . No . 1027 : LIQUOR COMMISSION APPOINTMENT From Mayor Bruce McCall dated October 1$, 1974, submitting for consideration and approval appointees to the Liquor and Planning Commissions: Recommend confirmation of Mr. Richard Schenck to the Liquor Commission. RESOLUTIONS No . 2$9 : SALARY ORDINANCE AMENDMENT Amends the salary ordinance for the Department of Public Works (Bureau of Plans & Surveys and Bureau of Sewers & Sanitation) : (Intr. by: Mr. Hisaoka) Approve and recommend adoption. I I FC-32 - 4 - Oct . 21, 1974 No . 290: Amends the salary ordinance for the Planning Department and Department of Public Works (Bureau of Traffic Safety & Control) : (Intr. by: Mr. Hisaoka) Approve and recommend adoption.
