Sadamoto, Director, Department of Research and Development, dated December 4, 1974, informing as stipulated in the contract for visitor industry promotional programs , HIVIA is required to meet certain requirements as their obligation to the County for funding support. They have informed Charlie Kamaka, the Association president, as to these requirements and have been assured of compliance. No. 879. 13: REQUEST FOR FUNDS - AD HOC COMMITTEE ON PARI-MUTUEL BETTING From John Goemans , Chairman, Ad Hoc Committee on Pari- Mutuel Betting, dated November 8, 1974, requesting that the maximum of $25 per regularly scheduled meeting of the entire Committee be allotted for the purpose of covering expenses of guest speakers and members of the news media. Estimates that there will be six meetings between now and the conclusion of their Committee meetings. Ate, e- No. 1045: SETTLEMENT OF CLAIMS BY CORPORATION COUNSEL (Bill 89) From Mayor Bruce McCall dated October 30, 1974, informing that he has approved the October 29th letter from the Corporation Counsel suggesting that he be authorized to settle claims of $5,000 or less without Council approval, but has reservations on the amount. FC-36 -3- December 12 , 1974 Grant authorization to Corporation Counsel to settle claims without Council approval as follows: $2 , 500 or less for civil action and $5,000 or less for eminent domain proceedings. RESOLUTIONS No. 303: SALARY ORDINANCE AMENDMENT Amends the salary ordinance for the Planning Department and Department of Water Supply (Field Division) . (Intr. by: . Amend proposed budget to $12,000 for 6 months and. refer to Finance Director for funding. ' ' Recommend that the present Kona County Pound employee remain a County employee and continues to pick up dogs as in the past but use the West Hawaii Humane Society Pound facilities to impound the animals and further recommend two Dog Wardens for West Hawaii.
