The following are the recommendations of the Finance Committee
which were considered at tis meeting of February 11, 1975 :

No. 571 : WITHDRAWAL OF $80,000 APPROPRIATION FROM CIP ORD. 586
FOR FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT AT WAIAKEA MAUKA DRAINAGE
SYSTEM
From Council Chairman Robert M. Yamada dated November 12 ,
1973.
571. 1: From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated February 10, 1975,
replying on the elimination of the appropriation for the
Waiakea Mauka Drainage System by stating that since the
subject project is an approved Capital Improvement Project
and the drainage problem exists , the Department of Public
Works has initiated the investigative and planning phases
and is pursuing the design and implementation phases,
having received approval of the design scheme for disposal
of the flood waters into the Panaewa Forest lands.
571. 2 : From Mary W. Earl, dated February 4, 1974 urging the
Council to implement the Waiakea-Uka Flood Control Project
as soon as possible.
571. 3 : From Mary W. Earl , dated February 11, 1975, commenting
further on the flooding conditions.
571.4: From Mr. Katsumi Nii, ex officio member of the Waiakea Uka
Community Association, dated February 11, 1975, requesting
the Council to consider the necessity of the project and
vote for the project ' s continuity.

/No. 1021. 3 : NACo LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE - REVENUE SHARING
From Bernard F. Hillenbrand, NACo Executive Director, dated
January 24, 1975, thanking the Council for the resolution
supporting revenue sharing and extending an invitation
to attend NACo's Legislative Conference on February 24-27
in Washington, D.C. , as there will be several programs
on revenue sharing at the conference.

From Finance Director Stanley A. Nakamae dated January 29 ,
1975, submitting report of the financial condition of the
County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1974.

Amends positions in the Fire Department.
