From John W. Goemans, Attorney, dated January 14, 1975,
submitting claim on behalf of Richard S . Caires in the
amount of S100,000 for excessive force on Mr. Caires by
police officer L. K. Ua on the night of July 20, 1974:

March 30, 1975, recommending that the claim be denied :

EXPOSITION, OKINAWA, 1975
From Research and Development Director Clarence W. Garcia
dated February 19, 1975, informing that the International
Ocean Exposition will be held in Okinawa from July 20,
1975, to January 1$, 1976, and that the first two weeks
of the event has been designated "Hawaii Week, " and
welcomes any suggestions for the program. Also the
American Food Festival will be held in Osaka, August 5-9,
1975 . Reservations need to be made early and can be
coordinated through the Research & Development Office:

consideration.

From Tom Yamane, Coordinator of the Office of Cooper-
ative Vocational Education, Hawaii Community College,
dated March 11, 1975, requesting $21,600 for 1975-76

/S,c, e- No . 1236 : TRANSFER OF FUNDS - HAWAIIAN BEACHES PARK AND KALOPA
(Res. 36$) PARK ROAD IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II
From Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi, dated March 21, 1975,
submitting bid results for the development of Hawaiian
Beaches Park, and the Kalopa Park Road Improvements
Phase II and requesting additional funds be transferred
from G-9100.6 earthquake emergency fund (FY 1973-74) .
Also submits Resolution 36$ for favorable consideration
to accomplish the transfer of additional funds to award
the bid :
Approve and recommend adoption of
Resolution 36$.
40-4= e- No . 1237: POLICE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(Bill 119) From Finance Director Stanley A. Nakamae, dated March 21,
1975, submitting for adoption Bill 119, increasing the
Capital Projects Fund by $35,000 for the Radio Microwave
and Mobile Radio Network Project to offset additional
expenses in re-design and bidding incurred by the
consultant . Informs that after bids are received for the
project, they will request the balance of the $300, 000
which the Council approved in Motion 50 :
Approve and recommend passage of
Bill 119 on first reading.
