COMMUNICATIONS /, , C_ No. 771. 1: AGREEMENT - UNIT I (BLUE COLLAR NON-SUPERVISORY EMPLOYEES) From Mayor Matayoshi dated September 10, 19 /6 inform- ing that the Agreement between the United Public Workers and the Employers has been negotiated and ratified by unit employees with negotiated wages reflecting an across-the-board monthly increase of $105 for all employees, plus a trade differential of $15 per month for employees in pay grades WB-9 through WB-15 and WF-9 through WF-15, effective July 1, 1976, subject to the approval by the State Legislature and the respective county legislative bodies. The cost items to be approved by the Council include wages, pay differentials, overtime, meals and mileage. Approve cost items for Unit I. �No. 1669. 1: BAKER' S BEACH DEVELOPMENT - HILO HAWAII From Parks and Recreation Director Milton T. Hakoda dated August 17, 1976, informing of status of the Baker' s Beach project and requests Council appropri- ation of $50,000 to expedite the acquisition and de- sign work. ,64€,c - 1669. 2: From Helene Hale, dated August 18, 1976 writing on behalf of her clients, Mr. & Mrs. J.W. Walton, who own the leasehold interest in two lots on Baker' s Beach and informs that if no action is taken on acquir- ing their interest by the end of this year, they will proceed with their development plans. No. 2013: HELICOPTER COMPLAINT From Mayor Matayoshi dated August 31, 1976, informing that Councilman Kawahara' s concern regarding helicopter landing beside the hospital causing disturbance to :the patients and nurses has been referred to the Fire Chief_ for detailed investigation to determinethe degree of disturbance and what measures can be taken to alleviate these disturbances while stillcarrying out those services that, may be necessary. Approve request and refer to Finance Director to set up the funds. 9 m• FC-77 - 3 - ® September 21, 1976 No. 2036 : APPEAL PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENTS OF LAND OWNED BY BOISE CASCADE RECREATION PROPERTIES From Councilman Levin dated September 15, 1976 request- ing that the County appeal the property tax assessments of land owned by Boise Cascade Recreation Properties at Waikoloa, because of the enormous difference between the value placed on the property by the Tax Office and the valuation submitted by Boise to justify their request for an Improvement District. Request the Corporation Counsel to seek from the Tax Office their method of appraisal for properties such as Boise Cascade, in order that the County might compare and evaluate and perhaps enjoin the whole island in terms of rendering a re-evaluation of properties, methods of evaluation, etc. &It 9 di OA IKUO HISAOKA, CHAIRMAN MP 'LE K.
