The following are the recommendations of the Finance Committee which
were considered at its meeting of November 30, 1976.
COMMUNICATIONS
No. 1129 : CLAIM - TATSUMI NISHIDA
From Deputy Chief of Police Guy A. Paul dated
December 24, 1974, transmitting a claim from Radio
Mechanic Technician Tatsumi Nishida for reimbursement
of $59. 60 to replace a damaged tire. Informs that
although he was on vacation at the time, he was
actually engaged in an official police purpose when
he damaged his vehicle' s tire.
1129. 1: From Assistant Corporation Counsel Stephen G. Bess
dated November 22, 1976 informing that their investi-
gation of the claim indicates that Mr. Nishida should
be reimbursed for the damages to his vehicle sustained
while he was on duty and that their office has settled
the claim for $50.

From Finance Director Stanley A. Nakamae dated
November 9, 1976, submitting for information a listing
of Federal grant programs as of September 30, 1976.

lNo. 2094: REQUEST FOR INCREASE IN POLICE PERSONNEL
From Mabel Petersen, President, Soroptimist Inter-
national of Kona, dated November 9, 1976 urging the
Council to approve next fiscal year' s police budget
for Kona without any cuts to help curb their rising
crime rate and give the taxpayers the protection they
are paying for.

President, Waikoloa Village Association, dated
November 11, 1976, reaffirming complaint laint of

inadequate police attention and requesting that
budgetary consideration be given to provide adequate
police protection to Waikoloa Village.

Approve and recommend adoption.
