Re: Request Approval for Discussion During the March 7, 2017 Committee
Day Schedule Regarding Mayor Harry Kim's Possible Cancellation/Termination
Of the Contract for the County Composting Facility, As Reported in the February 5,
2017, Article in the Hawai`i Tribune-Herald.
We respectfully request time for a discussion on the appropriate committee agenda on March 7,
2017, to allow Mayor Harry Kim and/or his designated representative(s) an opportunity to discuss
with the Council,the possible cancellation/termination of the contract for a county composting
facility in East Hawai`i, as reported in the February 5, 2017 article in the Hawai`i Tribune-Herald
and his thoughts in this matter. This discussion should include, among other things, the legal issues
pertaining to such cancellation/termination of the subject contract.
We anticipate that this discussion should take approximately one hour.
