The purpose of this is to exchange planning information and ideas among and between the State and County. planning agencies . Receive and file. C- No. 6 : STREET NAMES - DISCOVERY HARBOUR, UNIT I From Planning Commission dated November 20, 1972, transmitting for adoption Resolution 12 for street names for the roadways within Improvement District No. 11, "Discovery Harbour, Unit I, " subdivision located in Puumakaa-Palauhulu Tract, Kau. Approve and recommend adoption of Resolution 12. C- No. 7: REZONING REQUEST - HAWAII KONA KAI , INC. WAIOMAO AND KAWELA, KAU (TMK: 9-4-05 :17) From Planning Commission dated November 20, 1972, transmitting for adoption Bill 946 to change the district classification from an Agricultural (A-20a) to an Agricultural (A-5a) zoned district in Waiomao Homesteads , Waiomao and Kawela, Kau. WAIAKEA, SOUTH HILO (TMK: 2-4-44:2) From Planning Commission dated November 20, 1972, transmitting for adoption Bill 947 to change the district classification from an Agricultural (A-la) to a Single Family Residential (RS-15) in Waiakea Homesteads, 2nd Series, Waiakea, South Hilo. Approve and recommend passage of Bill 947 on first reading. 6 C - No. 9 : REZONING REQUEST STATE DEPT. OF ACCOUNTING & GENERAL SERVICES NORTH KOHALA (TMK: 5-3-05 :30 & Portion of 6) From Planning Commission dated November 22, 1972, transmitting for adoption Bill 948 to change the district classification from an Agricultural (A-20a) to a Single Family Residential (RS-15) zoned district in Kapaau, North Kohala. Approve and recommend passage of Bill 948 on first reading. No. 14: ZONING CHANGES ON HAWAIIAN HOME LAND (C-1723) From Planning Director dated December 4, 1972, informing that the State Attorney General has rules that the County does have the authority to zone Hawaiian Home lands only upon the request and initiation of the Hawaiian Homes Commission. In the Keaukaha instance, the HHC did initiate the rezoning request, and the County complied. Until otherwise directed by the Commission, the County would not be able to rezone:::the land. Receive and file. ARL, e,- No. 23 : REAPPOINTMENT OF PLANNING DIRECTOR From Mayor Kimura dated December 4, 1972, submitting for approval the reappointment of Mr. Raymond Suefuji as Planning Director. Confirm the reappointment of Mr. Raymond Suefuji as Planning Director. 111 C-1 - 3 - December 27, 1972 7 No. 26 : RESOLUTION 581 - RESTAURANT IN WAIPIO VALLEY From Governor Burns dated December 11, 1972, acknowledging receipt of Resolution No. 581, requesting deferral of action on an application to establish a restaurant in Waipio Valley until a mater plan for developing the valley is completed. Informs that by law (Section 183041, HRS ) , the Board of Land and Natural Resources must act on the application no later than its regular meeting on March 23, 1973. If there is reasonable assurance that the master plan under- way will be completed and in the hands of the Board in time for its deliberation in March, feels that the Board will give the Council' s request serious consideration. Request the Governor to recommend to the Board of Land and Natural Resources denial of the application to establish a restaurant in Waipio Valley until the master plan for the development of the Waipio area is completed by the Hamakua Development Council. Miller Huggins dated December 19, 1972, expressing concern about past actions and attitudes of some of the County department heads , particularly that of Planning. Receive and file. 4 d, -No. 45 : CONCERN - APPOINTMENT OF PLANNING DIRECTOR From Earl Younker dated December 18, 1972, opposing the approval of Raymond Suefuji as Planning Director and urging denial of Mr. Suefuji' s appointment for another term.
