Martin, Chairman, Planning Commission, dated March 18, 1974, submitting for adoption Bill 38 to amend the variance procedure of the zoning code based on the following considerations : 1. That the proposed amendments would be basically consistent with the provisions of the Planning Commission' s rules and regulations which were adopted pursuant to the County Charter. 2. (a) The review/action period of 45 days is much too short to hold a prehearing, public hearing and render a decision. Therefore, it is proposed that that period be expanded to 60 days. e. PRDC-27 - 4 - March 29, 1974 (b) The amendment also proposes to increase the appellate period from 15 days to 30 days as it has been found that two weeks are not necessarily sufficient to allow an applicant to prepare and submit his appeal. Approve and recommend passage of Bill 38 on first reading. 111111 , JO FARIA ,% JR. , CHAIr a . tliA..A4,1444 tel" I FRANK DE LUZ, III , CHAIRMAN ,/,„,,,7-1,,,,, e,...r., i ,,,,....„_} WILLIAM S .
