RESOLUTION NO. 88 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION'S BASKETBALL WORKSHOP IN KONA.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation and Hawai`i Island sports officials
believe that children participating in organized sports tend to achieve higher results in school,
develop excellent interpersonal skills, and lead healthier lives; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation provides educational sports
workshops for athletes, parents, coaches, officials, and volunteers to give them the proper
training techniques and tools to be successful; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds for one of its
workshops that will be held at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium in Kona, which will focus on
basketball officiating; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for its basketball workshop in Kona.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
