�No. 291 : SIGN VARIANCE REQUEST - NANI MAU GARDEN
From Makoto Nitahara dated May 8, 1973, requesting a
sign variance to permit him to install a 50 sq. ft. sign
(5 ' x 10° ) at Nani Mau Garden, 421 Makalika Street, Hilo.
� L 291. 1: From Mayor Shunichi Kimura dated May 30, 1973 , stating
that action on the variance request is to be held in
abeyance until final action has been taken on the
Special Permit request by the Planning Commission.
Approve request for a sign

No. 539 : SPECIAL CONDITIONS CONTAINED IN REZONING ORDINANCES
From Earl T. Nakasato, Deputy Corporation Counsel,
dated October 17, 1973, submitting a preliminary
report on special conditions first imposed, the.
"special conditions , " and legality of special
conditions.
Advises that it is to the County' s advantage to
leave planning predominantly with the Planning
Department, subject to legislative review.

lNo. 541: PROPOSED PARK DEDICATION ORDINANCE
(Bill 6) From Raymond H. Suefuji, Planning Director, dated
October 18, 1973 , submitting for consideration and
action a proposed bill relating to dedication of
land for parks and playgrounds as a condition of
approval of a subdivision, pursuant to Act 140
adopted in 1970 by the State Legislature.
5-4141 Points out that this proposal is not intended to
take over the present park development and acquisi-
tion program; rather it is intended to supplement
the County's park development efforts . Accordingly,
informs that this proposal should be reviewed and
evaluated with that perspective.
541.1: Copy of a memo to Mayor Kimura from Corporation Counsel
•: Lum dated November 5 , 1973, informing of the park
dedication deed procedure.
A,-C- 541.5 : From Arthur W. Martin, Chairman, Planning Commission,
dated April 16, 1974, recommending approval of the
proposed park dedication ordinance with amendments to
Section 7-D and addition of a new section, Section 8-D.
Approve and recommend adoption
of Bill 6 on second and final
reading.

informing that he has directed the Attorney General to
look into the matter and determine what can be done in
order to prevent any extreme hardship on our senior
citizens.

(Bill 108) PUEHUEHU, NORTH KOHALA (TMK: 5-4-07 :48 & 5-4-10 : 17)
From Arthur W. Martin, Chairman, Planning Commission,
dated February 20, 1975 , submitting for adoption a bill
to change the district classification from a Single
Family Residential - 15,000 square foot (RS-15 ) zone to
a Village Commercial - 10,000 square foot (CV-10) zoned
district at Puehuehu, North Kohala.
Approve and recommend passage
of Bill 108 on first reading.

�No. 104: REZONING REQUEST - GENTRY HAWAII LTD.
(Comm. 1167) Bill for an ordinance to change district classification
from Single Family Residential (RS-10 ) to Multiple
Family Residential (RM-7) zoned district at Kealakekua,
South Kona.
