�No. 541.9 : PARK DEDICATION ORDINANCE
Copy of letter to Consulting Engineers Council of Hawaii
from Planning Director dated September 18, 1975 , providing
information on the Park Dedication Ordinance so that they
can advise their existing and potential clients of the
requirements of the ordinance to facilitate implementation.

No. 575.3 : OPIHI RESEARCH
From Clarence W. Garcia, Research & Development Director,
dated September 9, 1975 , transmitting for information
copies of "The Biology of Opihi , " a study by Dr. E. Alison
Kay, University of Hawaii , Department of General Science.
Informs that $15 ,000 has been appropriated and will be
• released through the Department of Planning and Economic
Development for continuation of Dr. Kay' s study.

State Historic Preservation Officer concerning Mamala
Heiau. Recommends that should the site be placed on the
National Register and Federal matching funds become
available, that the Council seriously consider the
acquisition and development of this site.

Copy of letter to Kenneth M. Young, Project Manager,
Palani Development Company, from Planning Director dated
September 19, 1975 , acknowledging receipt of their
September 12 letter and informs that they will now await
submission of the subdivision plans ; reiterates that
the expiration date for securing tentative approval of
the first increment is November 26, 1975.

�No. 1463 : POSTING OF GASOLINE PRICES
From Councilman Levin dated July 22, 1975 , suggesting
amendment to the sign ordinance to allow, in addition to
other signs, a sign of reasonable size to encourage
service stations to post the price of gasoline by
eliminating the inconvenience of requiring a variance.
No gas station would be required to post its price but
would make it easier for those stations that want the
public to know the price of their product.

1975, suggesting that the present system be maintained,
and a variance be secured wherever necessary.
1463. 2 : From Councilman Levin dated September 22, 1975 , transmitting
a letter he received from Mr. Tom Inomoto which expresses
his opinion only, not necessarily that of the State Office
of Consumer Protection.

�No. 1472 : SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONING
From Councilman Levin dated July 28, 1975 urging PRDLC
to consider amendment to the zoning ordinance to allow
two families to live on one residential lot if the families
are related.

the problem of rats in Hawaii County and that it would be
in the interest of economy of the County for the Council
to initiate a program of rat abatement.

that the rat problem can be solved if the concentrated
effort and financial resources could be organized for it.
