The following are the recommendations of the Planning, Research, Develop-
ment and Legislative Committee which were considered at its meeting of
March 23, 1976 :
COMMUNICATIONS
4.e4_C_ No. 43 . 13 : FIREWORKS ORDINANCE
(Bill 214) From Deputy Corporation Counsel Katsuya Yamada dated
March 1, 1976, submitting for consideration a bill
for an ordinance to ( 1) clarify the period of sale,
(2 ) clarify the period of use, and ( 3 ) reiterating
the prohibition of other parts of the fireworks
ordinance making it unlawful for an individual to set
off, fire or cause to be exploded any fireworks in any
school, school grounds or school yards on any occasion
due to the disturbances created at Hilo High and Hilo
Intermediate Schools subsequent to the New Year's
vacation.
Approve and recommend passage of
Bill 214 on first reading.

1785 : PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT (PDP ) APPLICATION

From Planning Director Raymond Suefuji dated March 18,
1976, submitting for review, comments and recommendations
an application for a Planned Development Permit pursuant
to Article 27, Section H, of Chapter 8 (Zoning Code) of
the Hawaii County Code, as amended. Requires submittal
to the Planning Director within 15 days from the date of
receipt of information.

RESOLUTION
�No. 553 : KANOELEHUA INDUSTRIAL AREA
Goes on record as officially recognizing the area
presently zoned industrial (delineated in red on
attached map) as the "Kanoelehua Industrial Area" in
order to establish a credit union in the area.
