REPORT NO. 1
HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL

The following are the recommendations of the Agriculture and
Visitor Industry Committee which were considered at its meeting of
December 26, 1972:
RECOMMENDATIONS
,bre, /- No. 1: COLLEGE OF TROPICAL AGRICULTURE
Request the administration to conduct a feasibility
study on establishing a school for agriculture on the
Big Island which would either be by relocation of the
College of Tropical Agriculture in whole or in part,
or examine other alternatives to accomplish this
objective, including cost parameters of such a
development. Administration either do it in-house or
through a consultant and report to the Committee within

,w . A7- No. 2: PAPAYA ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE
Recommend to the Department of Research and Development
that they consider the allocation of $8, 300 to the
Papaya Administrative Committee for their research
projects from the $50,000 appropriated for the
Department' s 1972-73 budget for agricultural research,
product promotion and marketing programs.
Request the County Agent from the Cooperative Extension
Service, University of Hawaii, to periodically submit
progress reports to the Committee.
