The following are the recommendations of the Agriculture and Visitor
Industry Committee which were considered at its meeting of September 19,
1973:

° From Council Chairman Yamada dated August 24, 1973,
submitting the following comments of Noboru Kubojiri:
(2) Regarding the need for a County waterline
when subdividing lands, each subdividing
request should be -considered separately
depending on the climate of the area.
Recommend the Hawaii County Water
Commission adopt a policy to
disallow the creation of subdivisions
which do not have an ensured quantity
of water to accomplish the purpose

(Res. 122) AGRICULTURE, SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE
From Mayor Shunichi Kimura dated September 11, 1973,
informing that the County of Hawaii and the five
Soil and Water Conservation Districts of the Big
Island are the co-sponsors of an application for
assistance to the U. S. Department of Agriculture,
Soil Conservation Service.
Submits a resolution for the Council' s endorsement
of the project which will be attached to the
application. Feels that such support from the
County Council will enhance their changes of
receiving favorable responses.
Approve and recommend adoption
of Resolution 122.

From Mayor Shunichi Kimura dated September 13, 1973,
submitting the report on the College of Tropical
Agriculture as requested of the administration. It
contains the findings of a study of the feasibility
14 of establishing a school for agriculture in the
p County of Hawaii by relocating all or a portion of

the College of Tropical Agriculture to the Big
Island.
Commend the administration on
the report on the College of
Tropical Agriculture.
RECOMMENDATIONS

Request the Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Association
to consider a broader role to include such things as
visitor greetings and coordination of governmental agencies
and community organizations for the enhancement of the
