• The following are the recommendations of the Agriculture and Visitor
Industry Committee which were considered at its meeting of March 29, 1974:

�No. 108.2: TROPICAL AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH AND TRAINING
Prom Mayor Shunichi Kimura transmitting letter from
Dr. Kenneth K. Otagaki, International Agricultural Programs,
University of Hawaii, dated March 6, 1974, informing that
the on-site visitation task force which recently visited
the Big Island was most impressed with the potentials for
Tropical Agricultural Research and Training and thanks the
Mayor and members of the Council for the most timely
support and encouragement.
108.3: From Senator Stanley I. Hara dated March 22, 1974, trans-
mitting for informationletters written to the Hawaii
Congressional Members and Federal Agricultural officials
concerning the possibilities of one of the major tropical
research centers to be situated on the Big Island. Also
transmits S.R. 63 and S.B. 2090-74 relative to this matter.
