From Tadashi Suzuki, County Clerk, dated November 30,
1973, informing that he has received from the Office
of Senator Daniel K. Inouye, a copy of a Memorandum
to the Finance Committee of the 93rd Congress on
S. 2123, a bill to increase the rates of duty on
prepared or preserved pineapple and concentrated
pineapple juice.

598: TEMPORARY COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING'S
REPORT
0From Councilman Dante K. Carpenter dated December 5,
1973, transmitting a copy of the Temporary Commission
on Environmental Planning' s report for review by
the Council. Hopes that the three members of the
Commission could conveniently meet with the Committee
or Council for full discussion of the report and
that the Council should arrive at a decision as to

6N. 622 : CAMPAIGN REFORM
From Richard G. Edwards , Chairman, Republican
County Committee, dated December 21, 1973, recom-
mending passage of an ordinance making it illegal
for anyone in or running for office to accept
campaign donations from any individual or company
doing business with the County of Hawaii.
Request the Legislative Committee
Chairman to transmit a copy of
the campaign spending reform
law as passed at the last session
of the legislature to Mr. Edwards
with the comment that the County

Council would like to promulgate
the statewide action rather than
subvert the campaign reform
program that was initiated by
the legislature. However, as
the law is being implemented and
put into use, if Mr. Edwards feels
that it is still inadequate or
has deficiencies, the Council
requests that he once again
surface his ideas for campaign
reform.
P �- No. 629: RULES AND REGULATIONS - LIQUOR CONTROL ADJUDICATION
BOARD
From Hideo Kuniyoshi, Director, Department of Liquor
Control, dated December 27, 1973, transmitting
for approval, an amendment to the rules and regula-
tions of the Liquor Control Adjudication Board
changing the meeting time from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Approve amendment to the rules
and regulations.
AxoNo. 644: DEDICATION OF HOMES FOR PROPERTY TAX RELIEF
From Mayor Shunichi Kimura dated January 9, 1974,
submitting for consideration a resolution requesting
the State Legislature of the State of Hawaii to
give immediate and serious consideration to the
adoption of a Bill Relating to Dedication of Homes
for Property Tax Relief. This is to provide a
tax break to persons living near resort areas
enabling them to live there and not be indirectly
compelled to sell and move out of the area.
Recommend adoption of
Resolution 173 and support
legislative bill.
�No. 651: COUNTY FINANCIAL PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 1974-75
Copy of letter to Mayor Shunichi Kimura from Nadao
Yoshinaga, Chairman, Senate Committee on Ways and
Means , dated January 11, 1974, informing that
the Committee has scheduled February 1, 1974 for
the County's presentation on the financial program
(operating and capital improvement) for the fiscal
year 1974-75 at 9:00 a.m. in Senate Conference
Room I, State Capitol Building.

from Jack K. Suwa, Chairman, House Committee on
Finance, informing that his Committee will review
the County's budget for the current and next

1974, at 1:30 p.m. in Room 307, State Capitol
Building.
