The following are the recommendations of the Legislative Committee
which were considered at its meeting of May 14, 1974:
COMMUNICATIONS
"No. 132. 79 : FLUORIDATION
From Christine Ling, M.P.H. , Health Education Officer,
dated April 18, 1974, congratulating the Council on
achieving an important milestone in Hawaii County
health history with the adoption of the fluoridation
measure.
4...„A- 132.80: From Mary Helen Higgins dated April 18, 1974, expressing
her feeling that Councilmen are not representing their
constituents and that something should be done to correct
the situation.
132.81: From Faith Lee, State Health Chairman, Hawaii PTA, and
President, Hawaii Fluoridation Council, dated April 22,
1974, congratulating the Council on the passage of the
fluoridation bill.
132.82 : Copy of letter to Mayor Kimura from James Franklin dated
April 21, 1974, submitting information on fluoridation.
132.83 : From Councilwoman Josephine R. Yadao dated April 24,
1974, submitting for information and file a communication
regarding fluoridation which she received from the
Department of Health.
132.84: From Mrs . Mimi B. Warsh, Chairman, Big Island Comprehen-
sive Health Planning Council, dated April 23 , 1974,
informing that they are pleased by the passage of the
fluoridation bill and that they will continue to support
the efforts to explain this program to the public and
to implement the program.

whole electorate.

of her opposition to fluoridate the public water.
132.87: From Arthur W. Martin, Chairman, Planning Commission,
dated May 7, 1974, expressing their concerns regarding
the fluoridation ordinance.

ISLAND COUNTIES DURING LEGISLATIVE SESSIONS
Copy of letter to President of the Senate David C.
McClung from Tad T. Miura, County Clerk, County of
Kauai , dated April 18, 1974, transmitting a copy
of Resolution 273 adopted by the Kauai County
Council at its April 16 meeting relative to the
above subject.
