The following are the recommendations of the Social and
Cultural Development Committee which were considered at its meeting
of January 12 , 1973:
COMMUNICATIONS
�No. 2070: ART WORKSHOP CENTER
From the Executive Committee, Art Workshop Center,
dated July 25, 1972 , requesting assistance in
carrying out their program and submits proposals
for consideration.
2070.1: From Mrs. June Kanemitsu, Member of the State
Foundation on Culture and Arts.
'2070. 3: From Legislative Analyst dated September 14, 1972.
2070.4: From Stephen G. Bess , Deputy Corporation Counsel,
dated November 10, 1972.

2070.2: From Parks & Recreation Director dated August 31,
1972, submitting comments and recommending that
$22 ,000 be allocated to their department for the
contracting of selective programs in the cultural and
arts area to develop adequate facilities and equipment
where such programs can be carried out effectively
and in the best interests of varied socio-economic
groups within the various communities throughout the
county.
Consider the recommendation of
the Parks and Recreation in the
1973-1974 Fiscal Year budget.

From Parks & Recreation Director dated
August 31, 1972, submitting comments and
recommending that $22,000 be allocated
to their department for the contracting
of selective programs in the cultural
and arts area to develop adequate facilities
and equipment where such programs can be
carried out effectively and in the best
interests of varies socio-economic groups
within the various communities throughout
the county.
Approve request and refer to
Finance Committee for funding.
