The following is the recommendation of the Agriculture & Visitor
Industry and Planning, Research & Development Committees which was
considered at its meeting of June 25 , 1974:
COMMUNICATION
No. 849 : PRESERVATION OF AGRICULTURAL LANDS
From Mayor Shunichi Kimura dated May 13, 1974, seeking
consideration of a policy that would prevent the.
"automatic" subdivision of agricultural lands by tax key
parcels and suggests possible solutions. Recommends
also the appropriation of additional funds to hire
consultants to develop the details, of the maximum
agricultural lot-size program and that the first priority
area be North Kohala.
Accept recommendation of former Mayor Kimura
but request the Planning- Department to
consider assisting the consultants by
in-house work to reduce the cost and
recommend .that Philip Yoshimura be
considered to do consulting work for
North Kohala.
