Committee which were considered at its meeting of February 13, 1969:

Informs that only one bid was received for the Kona
Civic Center Landscaping, and recommends that bid be
awarded to Makiki Nursery for $14,893.00 ($9,000 State' s
share; County Bond Account No . B-1812C-Kona Civic Center
has a balance of $11,536.56) :
Reject bid of $14,893.00 and
request Chief "Engineer to ask
for rebids.
Chief Engineer requested to
contact State Department of
Governmental Services on other
plans for the area.

Re: M-148: Installation of Lights at Waipio Lookout
Point - Informs that the Department of Public. Works
submitted cost of $10,000 to install lights at the
pavilion, picnic area, and walkway (HELLO may or 'may
not charge County for bringing power line down to.
the park area) .
The department submitted a ,street light request for
the parking area to HELCO:

August 30, 31, September 1 and 2, 1968, due to the
negligent maintenance of the Kamuela or Waimea County
Garbage dump and/or the negligent control of fire in
said dump by the County or its employees, and submits
total claim of $5,280.00:

Submits proposal for the establishment of a vehicle
removal fund which will expedite the removal of
vehicles left unattended on the County and State

alignment which cuts through its property (proposed
Keopu Channel at Kailua):
The County go on record as approving
of the Keopu Channel alignment as
proposed by the Soil Conservation
Service and that the Chief Engineer
be instructed to consult with the
developers' consulting architects
and/or engineer, and to get together
with the Soil Conservation Service
as to the plans to construct the
building over the Channel. The
structural supports and members
spanning the channel shall be
designed and incorporated in the
building plan by the developers'
consultants.
