No. 138.1: Chief Engineer Re: C-138/PWC-5 - Kaohe Homestead Road Transmits- for the Council ' s consideration the resulting communication with the Bishop Trust Co. , Ltd. , trustees of the Roman Catholic Church property in question. Asks Council' s direction on whether to proceed with necessary surveys for appraisal purposes, and the method of acquisition of the road right-of-way in fee by negotiated payment or condemnation procedure: Rescind action on C-138/PWC-5. Recommends against acquiring the property of the Roman Catholic Church for the road right-of-way because of County policy of not accepting sub- standard private roads and recommends that the County discontinue maintenance of this road. Source of the trouble is a culvert installed by the County. Ask that the County either relocate the culvert or excavate a trench at the exit of the culvert to direct water away from the six lots affected: Refer to the administration for disposition and report back to the committee. No. 255: Gilbert Hakoda, Box 530, Kealakekua, Hawaii Request to purchase a portion of the old abandoned County road alongside the Kuakini Highway (Near the Keauhou Junction) in Kona, TMK: 7-8-07:40: Refer to the administration for a report. z„, 1 1 AMENDMENT ,z,. =:=L • No. 207/PWC-8: Chief Engineer Re: PWC-50/Resolution No. 172 - Abandonment of Old fl Government Road Abutting Lot 19 at Kealakehe Home- pLJc' stead, 1st Series, North Kona, Hawaii -- Informs that to be able to carry out the former Board of Supervisors' September 18, 1968 directive on the sale of the above road to the adjoining owners, a resolution abandoning the road must be adopted, and that parcel maps and descriptions must be prepared and appraisal made for sale price. The Council ' s consideration and final action on this matter is sought: Recommends the adoption of a resolution for the abandonment of the road. Request the Corporation Counsel to prepare the proper resolution. Recommends that the property be offered to the abutting land owners and the Corporation Counsel be requested to execute the transaction.
