which were considered at its meeting of June 16, 1969:

the Estate of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, dedicating
roadway to the County in the Volcano Golf and
Country Club Subdivision. Request to be advised of
the recording data for said deed when the same has
been accepted and recorded:

& Recreation Commission
Informs the Mayor that the Executive Committee of
the County Parks & Recreation Commission voted to
support the Kona Parks & Recreation Commission' s
recommendation that the Kailua School site be placed
in the public domain as a Memorial Botanical Park
in memory of those young men of Kona who died while
in the service of their country. Request that the
County support this action:
Request the administration
through the Planning Dept.
to submit plans to the
Governor for multiple use
of the land incorporating a
concept for municipal parking,
a public park and the Parks
& Recreation Commission' s
recommendation for a Memorial
Botanical Park. This multiple
use is necessary due to the
extremely high value of the
land.
Request the administration to
inform the Department of
Education of the County' s
feelings. Inform Mr. Erskine
of the action.

RECOMMENDATIONS
-WA 1: Request the Highway Safety Council to look into
the possibility of reducing the speed limit from

preliminary test borings for sump projects. - `

tion of a street light by the Morihara Store at the
junction of the City of Refuge Road and a street
light at the corner of Higashi Store in Honaunau,
Kona.

Ahead" signs at Pohina Pali between Honuapo and

right-of-way by the entrance to the Kau High and

ordinance penalizing individuals tampering with
construction flashers in violation with the State
Highway Safety Act which requires that traffic

repairing of the shoulders at the intersection
of Kahaopea Street and Kilauea Avenue. .5c t~ %-

Street and Kekuanaoa Street as a warning to
