Committee which were considered at its meeting of June 15, 1970:

Requests approval for a variance to the sign
ordinance reading "LONGS DRUGS" in script with
letters 3 ' high for capitals and 1$" high for
lower case and having an overall dimension of
approximately 60 sq. ft . :

Informs that the Public Works and Planning
Department jointly reviewed the subject request
and found that variance is not required since
the sign conforms to the sign ordinance:

light in front of the Capt . Cook Post Office but
because of the heavy backlog, HELCO has not yet been
able to complete the installation:

The County.Council at its June 17 meeting approved the proposed
plan for the Waianuenue bypass loading and unloading area for
the Hilo High and Hilo Intermediate Schools as presented by
Mr. William C. Hong, Traffic Consultant.
