County of Hawaii Hilo, Hawaii The following are the recommendations of the , Public Works Committee which were considered at its meeting of June 29, 97 1 0 : ' COMMUNICATIONS No . 60$.1: Philip Hooton, Chairman, Highway Safety Council Re': C-603/PWC-22 - Kona Traffic Safety Committee 's Request for Action on Traffic Matters Submits comments and recommendations on the subject referral: 1) One-Way Traffic, Alii Drive, Kailua-Kona Matter referred to Planning Commission to conduct a public hearing in Kona. 2) Change of Traffic Direction of Likana Lane, Kailua-Kona Believes this problem will be resolved at the public hearing above : w a).,» - 608.4: Charman, Planning Commission Re : C-603/PWC-22 Recommends the following with regard to traffic in Kailua-Kona: 1 . Retention of the present one-way traffic until further studies are made by the Department of Public Works . 2 . Realignment of parking stalls from vertical to parallel parking and enforcement of parking regulations . 3 . Immediate acquisition of church property to round the curve at the Alii-Rualalai intersection: Accept recommendations of the I Planning Commission. No . 923 : Terence T. Yoshioka, Deputy Corporation Counsel Re : Ordinance No . 321, Anti-Litter Submits a draft of an ordinance (Bill No . 719) amending Ordinance No . 321 which specifically lists bagasse and cane trash as being included in the definition of "litter" : Recommends passage of Bill No . 719 on first reading. YAM A, MEMBER L r PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE Report No. 36 AMENDMENT Comm. 668. 2: Mayor Re: Interim Report on Kona Pound, PW-668 'Recommends that any decision on location and construction of the Kona Animal Pound be delayed until the recently organized West Hawaii Humane Society is ready to begin such an operation and a site is located: Recommends that the location be determined by December 31, 1970, for the committing of funds for the Kona Pound and that the West Hawaii Humane Society be notified of this action.
