No . 1120: AMENDMENTS TO TRAFFIC ORDINANCE Chas. L. Schuster, District Engineer, State Dept . of Transportation, submits for consideration and approval, the following amendments to the Traffic Ordinance for revising the through traffic at the Waiaka Junction in Waimea, South Kohala: 1) Ordinance No. 34.9, Section 11, Section 9-3 (b) : a) Amend sub-article 5a to read : "The Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250A) from the. Waimea to Kawaihae Road intersection to the Niulii- Mahukona Road in Hawi except at the Hawi approach to the Kynnersley Road intersection. " b ) Amend sub-article 5d to read : "The Waimea to . Kawaihae Road from the Mamalahoa Highway at Waimea to Kawaihae. No. 950 Date: *MC 2 1970 r �•1 • 4, PWC-46 - 2 - Nov. 30, 1970 RESOLUTION Res . 294: ACQUISITION OF LAND - KEOPU CHANNEL IMPROVEMENT Provides for the acquisition of land for the Keopu Channel Improvement, Kona Watershed Project, in North Kona: (Introduced by: Mrs. Yadao) Approve and recommend passage of Resolution 294 on first reading. ORDINANCE Bill 755 : NO PASSING ZONES -AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 39 Amends Ordinance No . 39 (Traffic Code) , by further amending Section 6-7, pertaining to no-passing zones, authorizing the County Engineer and District Engineer to use advisory and warning signs where the width of winding or hilly roads is less than 1$ feet : (Introduced by: Mrs. Yadao) Approve and recommend passage of Bill 7S5 on first reading. RECOMMENDATIONS A. No . 1: CHANNEL - KONA Request the Chief Engineer to check with the Soil Conservation Service in Kona regarding the channel north of Holualoa which goes down to Horseshoe Bend on Hualalai Road, as to its association with the flood control project in Kona and report back to Committee . YAMADA, MEMBER r 110 o December 3, 1970 Rec. 1/PWC-46 Rec. 2/PWC-46 Mr. Edward Harada Chief Engineer Department of Public Works County of Hawaii Hilo, Hawaii Re: Channel - Kona Traffic Pattern - Kona The County Council at its December 2, 1970 meeting adopted the following recommendations of its Public Works Committee with regard to the above: - Recommendation No. 1: "Request the Chief Engineer to check with the Soil Conservation Service in Kona regarding the channel north of Holualoa which goes down to Horseshoe Bend on Hualalai Road, as to its association with ,the _ flood control project in Kona and report back to Committee."
