January 27, 1972, submitting their proposal to perform
surveying and engineering services as specified in
accordance with the Agreement.

1133.9: From Alan Curry, California, dated February 15, 1972 ,
requesting that his letter be considered as a registered
objection to any assessment against the property lots
numbers 837, 838, 839.

Associates , covering the roadways and improvements in

and water system dedication deed for the above. The Public
Works Department has recommended acceptance.

No. 1746. 1: STREET LIGHT - HONOKAA (C-1746/PWC-70)
From Chief Engineer dated February 9, 1972, informing that
by their letter of February 4, 1972, Hilo Electric Light
Co. , Ltd. , was requested to install a street light on
Pole No. 7 in Honokaa at the intersection of Hawaii Belt
Road and Loke Street.

No. 1798. 1: STREET LIGHT REQUESTS - KAPULENA (C-1798/PWC-73)
From Chief Engineer dated February 10, 1972, informing
that the request has been referred to the State Highways
Division for disposition as Poles 53, 56, and 58 in the
New Stable Camp 10 area, Kapulena, are in the State
highway right-of-way.

From Chief Engineer dated February 15, 1972, transmitting
for review and approval, proposed amendments to Ordinance 350
to accommodate the Kailua Mall Improvement District
petition.

No. 1842: SPEED LIMITS - MOHOULI SUBDIVISION
From Chief Engineer dated February 15, 1972, recommending
that Ordinance No. 39 be amended by the addition of the
following subsection to Section 10-5(a) to reduce the
speed limit from 35 mph to 25 mph:
11 . The following streets within the Mohouli
Subdivision in Waiakea, South Hilo.
a. Kumukoa Street, from Mohouli Street
northwestward (Hamakua) to its terminal.
b. Popolo Street, from Mohouli Street
northwestward (Hamakua) to its terminal.
c. Hoopuni Street
d. Iloko Street
e. Hilina' i Street. "
Accept recommendation and refer to
the Corporation Counsel to prepare
the proper amendments.
No. 1848: PWC RECOMMENDATIONS - Januar 14 1972 Meetin•
From Chief Engineer dated February 11, 1972, submitting
a report on the following:
1. Kailua-Kona Parking Facilities (C-1241.4)

1 No. 1853: KEAUKAHA BUILDING PERMIT (M-299)
From Chief Engineer dated February 23, 1972, submitting
for information, an opinion from the Acting Corporation
Counsel covering the items of concern presented to the
Council at its February 16, 1972 meeting. It is his opinion
that the discrepancies alleged are unfounded and the permit
is valid as issued:
Accept opinion of the Acting Corporation
Counsel and transmit a copy of the
opinion to the Keaukaha Moratorium
Ad Hoc Committee.
Pet. 29: Petition of November 24, 1971, opposing resort development
in South Kona, the proposed scenic roads and present
planning of the area. Request that the County of Hawaii
take necessary action to implement and insure the proposals
as mentioned in the petion.
29. 2: From PWC Chairman dated February 24, 1972, submitting
comments on Item 1 of Petition 29.
Accept the comments of the PWC Chairman
as a reply to Item 1 of Petition 29.
Bill 847: An ordinance amending Section 9-3-(b) 3 of Ordinance No. 39
