The following are the recommendations of the Committee on Public Service
which were considered at its meeting of January 17, 1977 :
COMMUNICATIONS
Ax,/, _ No. 70 : AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated December 23 , 1976
recommending amendment to the Traffic Code to prohibit
parking on Lehua Street in Honokaa just mauka of Mamane
Street to increase sight distance for vehicles exiting
from the driveway of the new market.
Accept recommendation and
refer to Corporation Counsel
to prepare proper amendment.
No. 73 : AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated January 4, 1977
recommending amendment to the Traffic Code to establish
a freight loading zone in front of the Hilo Macaroni
Factory on Kinoole Street to be used for pickups and for
loading and unloading goods.
Accept recommendation and
refer to Corporation Counsel
to prepare proper amendment.
Avec, C_ No. 78: TRAFFIC REVISIONS FOR KILAUEA AVENUE
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated December 29 , 1976,
requesting amendment to the Traffic Code to improve traffic
flow on Kilauea Avenue from Central Pacific Bank to
Keku anaoa Street.
Approve request and refer
to Corporation Counsel to
prepare proper amendments.

No. 79 : WALTER VICTOR COMPLEX FIELDLIGHTS
From Parks & Recreation Director Milton T. Hakoda dated
January 17 , 1977, informing they have not received a
response from the Federal Aviation Administration relative
to their inquiry on any restrictions connected with the
installation of fieldlights at Walter Victor Baseball
Complex.

No. 80 : SUMMARY OF SERVICES AND PROGRAMS FOR THE AGING
From Executive on Aging William Takaba dated January 5 ,
1977 submitting for information data sheets describing
the services and programs which are funded through the
Office of Aging and the County of Hawaii for the benefit
of the senior citizens of the Big Island.

ORDINANCES
Bill No. 2.67: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT (C-2081/RTC-79)
- Amends Article 16 of Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) by adding
a Freight Loading Zone on the Hamakua side of Manono Street
mauka of Kamehameha Avenue.

Bill No. 269: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT (C-2085/RTC-79)
Amends Article 12, Chapter 5 (Traffic Code) by establishing
a crosswalk on Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona.
