Quentin Tomich, Chairman, Hamakua District Development Council, expressing appreciation of the community for the placement, by public works, of the directional signs between the Belt Highway and Kalopa State Park, at the three critical junctions of County road. C - No. 135 : BAKER' S BEACH ACQUISITION From Helene Hale, Hawaii Isle Realty, Ltd. , dated • February 3 , 1977 requesting that the Committee consider implementing the acquisition of Baker ' s Beach as a public beach. Also states that $50 ,000 has been appropriated for this beach park and that plans have ' been drawn for itsYuse. Refer to Finance Committee 4e- e__ No. 142: CONTROL OF TRAFFIC ON WAIPIO VALLEY ROAD From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated February 4, 1977 requesting amendment to the Traffic Code to assign vehicular right-of-way along the Waipio Valley Road. Consumer Product Safety Commission, dated February 2, 1977, informing that the new Regulation under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act on fireworks devices have created discrepancies between it and the Hawaii County Fireworks Control Ordinance and suggests few changes in the County' s ordinance to achieve basic conformity to help the public, the merchants and those responsible for the administration and enforcement of Fireworks Laws. 1 Refer to Corporation Counsel to draft appropriate legislation to conform with the new Regulation under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act on fireworks devices. A..ce.C- No. 160 : HAWAIIAN.::INTERNATIONAL BICYCLE RACE From Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi dated February 16, 1977 , requesting approval for the closing of both lanes of Banyan Drive and Lihiwai Street as they encircle Liliuokalani Park on Thursday, March 10 , 1977 , from 3 :30 to 5 :30 p.m. for the running of a 40-lap race in the Hawaiian International Bicycle Race.
