COMMUNICATIONS
4u, C_ No. 155 : TRAFFIC CODE' AMENDMENT
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated February 9 , 1977,
requesting that the traffic code be amended to establish
a 30 mph speed limit for Kalapana Beach Road from Kaimu
Junction to the Hawaii National Park Boundary, a distance
of approximately 4-1/2 miles. This speed limit will
establish a more uniform posted speed limit along the
Kalapana-Kapoho Coastline.
Approve request and refer to
Corporation Counsel to prepare
the proper amendment.

submitting for information communications relative to
Papaikou Park.

No. 159 : TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated February 14, 1977,
recommending amendment tothe traffic code to designate
Kahakai Boulevard access in Hawaiian Beaches and Hawaiian
Shores Subdivisions in Puna, as a through highway.
Accept recommendation and refer to
Corporation Counsel to prepare the
proper amendment.

Council meeting offering suggestions on possible improvements
to public parks.

AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE
From District Engineer Chas L. Schuster, Department of
Transportation, Highways Division dated February 15 , 1977
requesting amendment to the Traffic Code to eliminate three,
forty-five miles per hour speed zones along the Hawaii Belt
Road at Wainaku, Hakalau and Papaaloa where the sugar
processing mills have been closed.
Approve request and refer to
Corporation Counsel to prepare
proper amendment.

LEHUA STREET IN-.:HONOKAA JUST MAUKA OF MAMANE STREET (C-70/PSC-3)
Amends Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) , Article 15 , Section 8, Hawaii
County Code 1975 , as amended, by adding a no-parking zone
under the "Hamakua" category.

loading zone.

zones and time-limit parking zones.

speed limit on K awaih ae Road.
