dated March 2, 1977, submitting for information the
response from the Federal Aviation Administration
regarding the installation of fieldlights at the
Walter Victor Complex.

From Councilman ,Joseph R. Garcia, Jr. , dated March 1 , 1977
submitting copy of letter he received from the Director
of Parks & Recreation,:'relative to Papaikou Park.

HAKALAU CHIN CHUCK JUNCTION
From Jack Y. Ouye, President, Hakalau Recreational Council,
and Vice President, Wailea Community Association, dated
March 5 , 1977, urging retention of the 45 mph speed limit
at the Hakalau Chin Chuck junction due to the volume of
traffic at that intersection.
176. 2: From Richard T. Kanna, President, and Rev. H. Tanaka,
Resident Minister, Hakalau Jodo Mission,- opposing the
change in speed limit at the- Hakalau Chin Chuck junction
from 45 to 55 mph.

_e_.,C-,No. 196: AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated March 3 , 1977
submitting drawing showing a revised traffic pattern on
Palani Roadthat will provide interim relief to the
traffic congestion, at the driveways to the North Kona
Shopping Center (by Sizzler' s) and to the bank/post office
complex. To implement this plan, requests amendment to
the Traffic Code to authorize U-Turn only for mauka bound
traffic on Palani Road at the intersection of Palani Road
and Queen Kaahumanu Highway in North Kona.
Approve request and refer to
Corporation Counsel to prepare
proper amendment.
zNo. 197: PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM IN COUNCILROOM
From Council Chairman Harvey S. Tajiri dated March 4,1977,
informing that when the County Clerk' s report is received
regarding Jerry Rothstein' s letter on the public address
system in the Councilroom, he will forward to the. committee.

/No. 209 : REROUTING OF TRAFFIC ON KAMEHAMEHA AVENUE (Rec. 1/PSC-4)
From Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi dated March 7, 1977 ,
informing he will ask the Chief Engineer to make contact
with the County Clerk in order to specifically delineate
the proposal of rerouting traffic on Kamehameha Avenue.
