The following are the recommendations of the Committee on Agriculture
and Tourism which were considered at its meeting of January 24, 1977 :
COMMUNICATIONS
VNo. 82 : USE OF OLD AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDINGS BY COUNTY OF
HAWAII
From ATC Chairman James L. K. Dahlberg, dated January 12,
1977 transmitting for perusal, information received from
Mr. Owen Miyamoto, Chief of the Airports Division, State
Department of Transportation, relating to conditions
for the use of the old airport terminal buildings by
the County of Hawaii . Informs Mayor Matayoshi has asked
Mr. Miyamoto to consider various options which will
benefit Big Islanders and the Department of Research
and Development is continuing a feasibility study of
using the buildings for a central marketing facility
for agricultural products ; also the Mayor has been
requested to keep the committee apprised of the develop-
ments .
88. 1: From Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi dated January 17, 1977,
informing that he will ask the Research and Development
Department to brief the Council on the current status
of the future plans for the subject buildings by the
Department of Transportation, Airports Division, State
of Hawaii .
