The following are the recommendations of the Committee on Agriculture
and Tourism which were considered at its meeting of August 10, 1977:
COMMUNICATIONS
No. 454: EIS FOR PROPOSED KE-AHOLE AGRICULTURAL PARK
From John Farias , Jr. , Chairman, Board of Agriculture,
dated July 22, 1977, informing that they are in the
process of preparing the Environmental Impact State-
ment for the proposed agricultural park at Ke-ahole
and attaches information submitted as the EIS
preparation notice. Informs also that they would
appreciate receiving comments and concerns relating
to the subject project by August 25 , 1977 or sooner.

August 20 , 1977. )
No. 457: ALTERNATE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT - COCOA
From Jack Smoot dated July 23, 1937, transmitting for
information an article entitled, "Cocoa Beans and
Future Supply Problems" . Informs that cocoa will grow
in many areas on Hawaii and that the market potential
exists in the United States .
Receive and file; and transmit
article to the Department of
Research and Development.

1977, transmitting for consideration and action, a
memorandum from David L. Namauu, President, Na Keiki
O Ka Aina 0 Hawaii Nei , requesting support and
endorsement of the renovation, development and
preservation of the Keaukaha Beach Park and the
Hawaiian (Fishing) Culture Village.
