No. 394. 1 : ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN FOR HIVIA From Brian J. Barbata, Vice President, Peck, Sims , Mueller, Inc. dated September 22 , 1977, summarizing the strategy and results thus far of the advertising and promotional campaign they are conducting for HIVIA. Hopes the informa- tion will help in the upcoming organizational decision with which the Big Island visitor industry and. government is faced. • 394. 2 : From Brian J. Barbata , Vice President , Peck, Sims , Mueller, Inc. , dated October 3 , 1977, notifying that the HIVIA advertsing campaign has been awarded seven awards in the 1977 Ad Infinitum competition, selected by a panel of ton advertising people in Los Angeles and San Francisco to he representative of the best work done in the categories of : Direct Mail ; Photography and Trade Advertising. The campaign will be displayed at a show in Honolulu in late October, at which time the "Pele Awards" for best in category will he announced. Receive and file. Akaka dated August 24 , 1977, acknowledging receipt of letter dated August 16, 1977 , which referred to their successful efforts in obtaining the legislation needed. to avoid a sugar crisis. Because of the necessity to ensure the continuation of this significant and vital economic force in Hawaii , he is in the process of studying various uses of sugarcane and its byproducts. Receive and file. i .L., C - No. 535. 1 : AMENDMENT TO BUILDING CODE - AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS From Lesley Hill Higgins , Secretary, Big Island Association of Nurserymen, responding to request for feedback concerning the establishment of an agricultural building code in the County of Hawaii . Informs their members feel there is a need for revision of building code requirements relating to agricultural structures , and cites an example of setback requirements. Refer to the Planning Director and Chief Engineer to consider reduction of 100- foot setback requirements.
