The following are the recommendations of the Committee on Finance which
were considered at its meeting of June 21, 1977 :
COMMUNICATIONS
382 : QUEEN LILIUOKALANI JUBILEE
From Wendell Kaehuaea dated June 1, 1977, requesting
consideration to divert $40, 000 from the Captain Cook
bicentennial celebration for use by the Queen Liliuokalani
Jubilee Corporation to cast and erect a large statue of
Queen Liliuokalani in Kona.
Receive and file; and refer to
Hawaii County 1978 Bicentennial
Committee for consideration.
No. 384: MILEAGE RATES ADJUSTMENT
(Bill 316) From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated
June 3, 1977, submitting for consideration an amendment
• to Article 10, Chapter 2, Hawaii County Code, proposing
to adjust mileage rates to a more equitable level.
Approve and recommend passage of
Bill 316 on first reading.

From Corporation Counsel Stephen G. Bess dated June ,y,
1977, seeking authorization to pay Terence Yoshioka,
special counsel for the Arthur Hoke grievance pro-
ceedings, the amount of $5, 000 rather than the amount
that was earlier estimated and approved by the Council
on December 6, 1976.
Approve request and refer to Finance
Director for funding.
