Grimmer, Carlsmith, Carlsmith, Wichman and Case, dated July 13, 1977, submitting claim of $200,000 on behalf of Gay and Carlotta Spencer for the wrongful death of their daughter, Kimberly Spencer. Informs Kimberly was struck by a car on January 16, 1977, near the 32-mile post on the Mamalahoa Highway near Hue Hue Ranch, Kalaoa, North Kona, due to the negligent failure of the County to properly construct the road and shoulders and for not providing a safe place or mechanism by which pedestrians could cross the highway in said area. C- 442. 1 : . From Corporation Counsel Stephen G. Bess dated September 1, 1977, advising after conducting a thorough investigation that there is absolutely no basis for theSpencerfamily' s claim that the County of Hawaii is responsible for the alleged damages; therefore, recommends that the claim be denied. Accept recommendation of Corporation Counsel and recommend that the claim be denied. No. 504: , CLAIM - PALEKOKI RANCH, INC. (C-1479) From Deputy Corporation Counsel Lionel D. Meyer dated August 24, 1977, informing that the subject claim has been settled in the amount of $1, 500, which in their opinion, is a reasonable settlement; ; transmits Release signed by Palekoki Ranch, Inc. , for filing with the.
