ALL, d No. 559 : FINANCIAL RESOURCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
From. Councilman Muneo• Sameshima dated September 30, 1977,
expressing concern about the financial resources of the
County, especially as it relates to the projected deficit
operating programs for the next several years. At the
present time real 'property taxation is the major revenue
source; that the key factor rests with the assessment
practices which is supposed to be related to the "fair
market value. " As the County will be faced with the
possibility of a revenue shortage and a tax rate
increase, suggests, the Finance Committee request that
the Office of Corporation Counsel review the assessment
practices of the State Department of Taxation to insure
that:).F the County government is realizing its proper
revenue receipts. -
Request Corporation Counsel to review
the assessment practices of the State
Department of Taxation.
