.0,.?f... <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII - � � STATE OF HAWAII <br /> � -- /�•- <br /> :f er:�,. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 113 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ANEKONA OULI <br /> KANEHOA VFD COMPANY FOR EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF A GARAGE FOR THE 9-BRAVO VOLUNTEER FIRE <br /> COMPANY IN WAIKOLOA. <br /> WHEREAS, Anekona Ouli Kanehoa VFD Company ("AOK") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that represents the volunteer firefighters who provide critical support to the Hawai`i <br /> Fire Department when responding to emergencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, AOK supports 9-Bravo, a volunteer fire company located in Waikoloa that <br /> is trained and certified to assist the Hawai`i Fire Department during emergencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, 9-Bravo is in need of a garage for the storage of firefighting equipment, <br /> vehicles, and fire-related supplies; and <br /> WHEREAS, AOK is requesting funds to be used toward the construction of a 2,000- <br /> square-foot garage for the 9-Bravo volunteer fire company located in Waikoloa; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department provides programs and activities that promote <br /> the safety, health, and quality of life of residents, and it strongly supports the volunteer fire <br /> companies that help to provide quick and efficient responses to fire emergencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Fire <br /> Department to provide a grant to Anekona Ouli Kanehoa VFD Company for expenses associated <br /> with the construction of a 2,000-square-foot garage for the 9-Bravo volunteer fire company in <br /> Waikoloa. <br />
