Your Committee on Finance to which was referred:
4 Comm. 895: APPROPRIATION FOR EXPENSES OF PROSECUTION IN
CASE OF STATE OF HAWAII v. GERTRUDE SILVA
From Prosecuting Attorney Jon R. Ono dated
July 7, 1978, informing Deputy Prosecuting
Attorney Christopher J. Roehrig, who will be
leaving on August 15, 1978, for private practice,
• is at present prosecuting the case of State of
Hawaii v. Gertrude Silva, a manslaughter case,
which is expected to go on trial on September 11,
1978. Believes it is important to have Mr . Roehrig
continue with the case since he is intimately
familiar with its complexities through extensive
preparation and requests a special appropriation
of $5,400 for expenses. of prosecution;
recommends approval of the request for a special appropriation for
expenses of prosecution in the case of the State of Hawaii v.,
Gertrude Silva and that the total fees shall not exceed $5 ,400.-
Should further adjustment in fees be required, requests the
Prosecuting Attorney to seek approval of the Finance Committee.
