Your Committee on Finance to which was referred:
4L,_ Comm. 913 : FUNDING FOR ENGINEER AID II POSITION
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated August 23 ,
1978, informing the departmental budget for fiscal
year 1978-79 did not provide funding for a vacant
Engineering Aid II position; they have been recently
advised that they are potentially in violation
of a "maintenance of effort" provision of the
CETA program, since the department is presently
funded for Engineering Aid II positions under the
Federal program. Therefore, requests that funds
in the amount of $6,494. 00 for the period October,
1978 to June, 1979 be transferred from the Con-
tingency Account to fund the vacant position;
recommends Council approve the transfer of funds in the amount of
$6,494 for the period October, 1978 to June, 1979 to fund the vacant
position of Engineering Aid II, in compliance with the "maintenance
of effort" provision of the CETA program.
