Your Committee on Finance to which was referred :
Comm. 798: ADDITIONAL ASSIGNMENT FOR COUNTY PARKING LOT ATTENDANT
From Councilman James L. K. Dahlberg dated May 3,
1978, requesting consideration of the concept of the
assignment of additional functional area for; the
County Parking Lot Attendant and referral of the action
to the Department of Personnel Services for classifi-
cation and an in-depth review.
4u Comm. 798.1: From Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi dated October 19,
(Bill 431) 1978, informing to relieve the problem of inadequate
enforcement of parking meter violations in Downtown
Hilo, the Department of Public Works will be assigning
the incumbent County Parking Lot Attendant the
• additional duty of enforcing parking meter regulations
in Downtown Hilo, as well as other metered areas;
however, to legally permit the incumbent to issue
citations in areas other than the County Building
premises, the attached amendment to the Traffic Code
will be necessary;
recommends that the Council receive and file the communications and
approve and adopt Bill 431 on first reading.
The purpose of the bill is to add a new section, relating to parking
meter zones, to Article 17, Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) of the Hawaii County
Code, to legally permit the Parking Lot Attendant to issue parking meter
citations in areas other than the County Building premises.
