Your Committee on Finance to which was referred :
,R Comm. 9114 : SALARY ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
(Res. 31$) DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE - DIVISION OF ACCOUNTS
From Director of Personnel Services Edward L. Silva
dated September 27,197$, submitting for adoption, a
resolution to amend the Salary Ordinance as' a result
of a classification study completed by their office,
which was duly authorized by the Department of Finance
and the Administrative Review Committee in accordance
with Section 4-5 (c ) of the County Charter. Informs
the County's move to a greater automation caused the
reassignment and changes in the duties of several
positions in the Accounts Division of the Finance
Department ; with this reorganization, there is no
need for the Accountant I position and this prompted
the reassignment of duties to reflect one of data
entry rather than the professional entry level
accounting position. Further informs although the
reallocation is of an existing position, this was
not funded in the budget and needs to be funded ;
recommends the Council approve the reallocation of the position of
Accountant I SR-15 to Data Entry Operator SR-8 in the Department of
Finance, Division of Accounts, and the accompanying Resolution No . 31$
be adopted to accomplish this purpose .
This reallocation is in compliance with C-649 .3/FC-33 that the Finance
Director be authorized to "implement those items that need to be done'
in order to proceed with the EDP system for. the County of Hawaii . "
