Your Committee -on Finance to which was referred :
L, Comm. 962: SALARY ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
(Res. 323 ) NEW POSITIONS UNDER COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
From Edward L. Silva, Director of Personnel Services,
dated October 11, 1978, submitting for adoption, a
resolution to amend the Salary" Ordinance as a result
of classification studies completed by their office
with reference to new positions under the Coastal
Zone Management Program for the County of Hawaii .
Informs the positions are funded through a $150,000
grant from the Federal Office of Coastal Zone Manage-
ment through the State of Hawaii ; -
recommends Council approve the deletion of the positions of Coastal
Management Liaison Officer SR-1$ and Assistant Coastal Zone Management
Liaison Officer SR-15 (Planning Department ) , and the addition of the
positions of Planner IV SR-21, Planner III SR-1$, Account Clerk SR-10,
Senior Clerk-Typist SR-10 (Planning Department; Deputy Corporation
Counsel LS-9 (Office of the Corporation Counsel) ; Civil Engineer III SR-21,
Civil Engineer I SR-17 (Bureau of Building Construction and Inspection,
Department of Public Works) , for the Coastal Zone Management Program for
the County of Hawaii and the accompanying Resolution No . 323 be adopted
to accomplish this purpose .
This approval is granted with the understanding that these positions will
be only for the duration that Federal funding is made available.
