Your Committee on Finance to which was referred:
,.. Comm. 950. 1: REQUEST FOR SPECIAL COUNSEL
CIVIL NO. 5438, SAMESHIMA VS. YAMASHIRO
From Deputy Corporation Counsel Alan M. Okamoto
dated October 25, 1978, requesting that Special
Counsel be appointed to represent Mr. Yamashiro
PP
in the subject suit. Informs their current
workload makes it difficult for them to represent
Mr. Yamashiro at this time; and since only one
County officer has been sued, feels the cost of
legal representation could be kept to a minimum.
The rate of compensation will be $40.00 an hour;
total compensation is not to exceed $7, 500.00;
recommends Council approve the request that Special Counsel be
appointed to represent Mr. Stephen Yamashiro in Civil No. 5438 at
the rate of $40.00 an hour and that the total compensation shall
not exceed $7, 500.00.
