Your Committee on Finance to which was referred :
1 ,l42- Comm. 118$: STATE GRANTS RECEIVABLE
(Bill 493 ) POLICE DEPARTMENT ® MARIJUANA ERADICATION
From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae
dated June 19, 1979 informing they have .
received a State warrant in the sum of $36,000
from appropriations for grants-in-aid to
counties pursuant to Section 83A, Act 243/7$,
to be used for the eradication of marijuana.
_ The funds are, in turn, to be transferred to
the State Department of Defense to reimburse
- the Federal Government for the use of equip-
- - ment 'and resources. In view of the fact that
such Federal help was essential and that funds
were released by the State specifically for
this purpose, requests action on the enclosed
ordinance bill;
recommends Council approve and adopt on first reading, Bill 493
increasing State Grants Receivable (Sec . $3A, Act 243/7$) by -
$36,000' and appropriating said amount to the Police Department
(Marijuana Eradication) .
