• CIVIL NO. 527$, THIRD CIRCUIT COURT
From Corporation. Counsel Stephen G. Bess dated
July 27, 1979 informing the workload of the
attorneys in their office is such that they
cannot provide the time necessary to adequately
defend the subject case and requests authorization
• to hire Special Counsel, pursuant to Section 5-2.5
of the County Charter. Given the County's -
- exposure to liability in the case, estimates
• cost will be approximately $15,000;
recommends, pursuant to Section 5-2.5 of the County Charter, Council
grant authorization to hire Special Counsel for Civil No . 527$,
Kuahiwinui, et al versus County of Hawaii, et al, and that the total
compensation shall not exceed 815,000.
