Your Committee on Finance to which was referred :
4.<-L.Comm. 1355 : SEXUAL ASSAULT SUPPORT SYSTEM
From H. Stuart Kearns, Jr. , Director, Office of
Manpower Resources, dated October 24, 1979
informing the YWCA is finalizing negotiations
with the State and the Sexual Abuse Treatment
Center in Honolulu for funding to establish a
Sexual Assault Support System in Hawaii County
in FY 19$0-$1, and that County assistance, a
one-time monetary grant not to exceed $3,464
for the period November 1, 1979 through June 30,
19$0 is being sought to enable the YWCA to provide
certain services related to the development of the
program.
As there are funds appropriated by the Council for
Social Program-Special Need, recommends the Council
approve funding of $3,464 to the YWCA for the
program as per the attached budget detail and
program description. This appropriation could be
administered by their office through a contract to
the YWCA ;
recommends Council approve the funding of $5,464 ($3,464 plus an
additional $2,000 for medical - examinations, etc . ) from the Social
Program-Special Need account to the YWCA for the establishment of a
Sexual Assault Support System in Hawaii County for the period
November 1, 1979 through June 30,. 19$0.
