(Res. 519) ACCOUNT TO MANGANESE NODULE PROJECT ACCOUNT
From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae
dated November 1, 1979 submitting for approval,
a resolution transferring $10,000 from Research
and Development OCE to the. Manganese Nodule .
project account ;
recommends Council approve arid adopt Resolution 519 to transfer $10,000
from the Research & Development OCE account to the Manganese Nodule
project account . ,
The County of Hawaii, is co-sponsor with the State of Hawaii of a three-
year study of manganese nodule processing tailing/reject study which
is deemed vital to assure that environmental questions are adequately
addressed to assist in the decision-making process relative to the
potential development of this industry on the Big Island . The County's
commitment is for $20,000 and the original budget request understated
the financial obligation by 50 percent .
