40, Comm. 1105 .1: COMMUNITY' -DEVELOPMENT' BLOCK, GRANTS
(Bill 547) From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated
, November 16 ,. 1979 submitting an ordinance bill
appropriating $271,000 `received from the U. S*.
Department of Housing and Urban Development' s
Community Development Block Grant program. Informs
the projects to be funded were selected after public
hearings and approval by HUD and by the County
Council in C-1105/PC-85 and Resolution 408 adopted
on April 18, 1979 ;
recommends Council approve and adopt Bill 547 on second and final
reading.
Bill 547 increases Federal Grants Receivable in the amount of
$271,000 and appropriates to the following capital improvement projects :
Removal of Architectural Barriers, $25 ,000 ; LanJk.aula/Kaman.a Street
Right of Way Improvements , $96 ,000; Site Improvements - Elderly Housing,
$50 ,000 ; Hilo City Core Improvements , $50 ,000 ; Administration, $40 ,000 ;
and Contingencies , .$10 ,000 .
